VakıfBank achieved a surprisingly easy win over their biggest rivals through the history of the Sultanlar Ligi, Eczacıbaşı (these two teams are most titled in the modern era of the Turkish women’s club volleyball). In Round 27 of the 2020/21 regular season, ‘The Yellow-and-Blacks’ prevailed by a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20 25-18) and recorded the 16th successive victory in total (10th successive victory in the league).

The Swede Isabelle Haak dominated the match, tallying 27 points for VakıfBank. With the win today, VakıfBank eliminated Eczacıbaşı from the fight for the top spot in the regular season. ‘The Tigers’ will now turn to keep third place in the next few games, while VakıfBank will have to watch out for Fenerbahçe Opet as the only rivals for No.1.
