WCHJ M: Head coaches brace themselves for tough competition

The head coaches of the teams participating in Pools A and B of the FIVB Men's U21 World Championship in Turkey took part in the official pre-tournament press conference held before the General Technical Meeting at the Surmeli Hotel in Ankara. The mentors were happy to share their thoughts on the upcoming competition

Di Zhang, head coach of China: We are very happy to be here. Turkish people welcomed us very warmly. We will do our best to finish our pool in a good place. This will be a tough and high quality championship. I hope to have a good championship here.

Gaber Abouzeid, head coach of Egypt: We are very happy and proud to be taking place in this big organisation. There are really good and strong teams in this championship.  We are very happy to have the chance to play against them.

T.C. Jothish, head coach of India: Turkey is a very beautiful country. We are very proud to be here. There are strong teams in this championship and we are going to play tough games through the championship. I hope we will get a good result.

Brahim Bouchdouk, head coach of Morocco: It is a great honor for us to take place in this great organisation. We qualified from Africa and we represent our continent. This is very important for us. We are in a pool that includes strong teams.  Our first aim is to complete our pool in the best place.

Umit Hizal, head coach of Turkey: We are proud to host this prestigious event in our country. I think there will be very important and tough matches in this World Championship. I hope all the countries that are participating in this championship will leave our country with the best memories. I wish good luck to all of the teams.

Noriaki Sako, head coach of Japan: The conditions are very good and I would like to thank Turkey for this.  The first match in a tournament is always very important and we are looking forward to ours.

Urmas Tali, head coach of Estonia: The Estonian team is one of the 20 teams who made it to the Finals in Turkey.  This is the first time in 14 years.  I wish good luck to everyone, but I would like to see many surprises in this tournament.  I hope we will be one of the big surprises here.

Jorge Lopez, head coach of Mexico: Our aim is to become world champions, but we know this will be a hard tournament and we will approach it match by match.

Fabian Muraco, head coach of Argentina: Our team is very happy to be in Turkey.  I think it will be a very difficult tournament, because all the teams are very strong.  Good luck to all the head coaches and their teams!

 Farhad Nafarzadeh, head coach of Iran: I am very happy to be here, in Ankara, for this tournament.  This tournament will be very difficult for all participating teams, because this is a new formula for this competition.  Each team has prepared for this tournament and I am sure it will be a good championship.  I hope we can be among the best teams in this competition.
