“We played an almost perfect game against Omichka in the first leg, but on the way to the Final Four we have one more important step to make on Thursday,” Eczacibasi’s mentor Lorenzo Micelli stated. “I am sure the Russian team has got the same feelings and expectations to move forward as we do. So far, we had a smooth journey in the CEV DenizBank Champions League without having lost any games. We continue our preparations to keep this unbeaten record and I believe we will be in Baku for the finals.”
Eczacibasi VitrA’s international star Neslihan Demir added: “The game in Russia was a very different experience for us. We faced -30-degree temperatures and a 5-hour time difference. But we stayed concentrated and came back from Omsk with an important win. For this reason, we are very happy. We identify our goals in the Champions League match by match. Each game constitutes a new target. Despite the fact that we will now play at home, we are well aware that nothing has finished yet. In front of our spectators, we would like to play well and continue our winning streak.”
