VakıfBank took down Türk Hava Yolları in the top match of the ninth round of the 2021/22 Turkish Women’s Volleyball Championship.
At the closing of Round 9 of the 2021/22 Misli.com Sultanlar Ligi, VakıfBank and THY played more than two-hour-long encounter in which the former prevailed 3-1 (29-27, 18-25, 32-30, 25-22). The ’Yellow and Blacks’ thus returned to the leading position in the chart, which they temporarily lost to Fenerbahçe Opet. VakıfBank extended their winning streak in the competition to six games, putting an end to THY’s four-game run.
The Swede Isabelle Haak tallied 24 points for VakıfBank but she was not the most efficient player in the match – it was Kiera Van Ryk from THY, who scored 33 points. Given that no other player scored more than eight points in the ranks of the losing team, it is clear that the Canadian didn’t have enough support from her teammates today.
