Fenerbahçe Opet are no match to any of the title favorites in the 2022–23 AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi. Consequently, their title hopes don’t seem real at the moment. After losing to Galatasaray HDI Sigorta and Arkas Spor earlier, the ’Yellow Canaries’ fell short to Halkbak in a duel of the last season’s bronze and silver medalists in the championship valid for Round 11. The Ankara side has provisionally returned to the top of the standings with a record of 10-1 and 28 points, which is two points more than Ziraat Bankkart, who have yet to play their match in this round.

The Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz was Halkbank’s most prolific player in the big match today, scoring 22 points. Volkan Döne had 76% reception (17 digs, 1 error, 65% perfect). Youngster Kaan Gürbüz scored 24 points for Fenerbahçe, who remained sixth in the charts.
