Giovanni Guidetti will command the most-titled CEV Women’s Volleyball Champions League club in the last decade, VakıfBank, for three more years.
VakıfBank extended their contract with head coach Guidetti for three more years. The ’yellow-blacks’ will continue with the Italian expert, who has been in charge of the team for 15 years. A new agreement between the Turkish giants and Guidetti represents the continuity of the collaboration that began in the 2008–09 season.
“I’d like to thank all my players, my coaching staff, and our management, who trusted me and have kept me at VakıfBank for all these years, at the top of the world. We share a common philosophy with our club. And that’s the idea that what makes a team great is a commitment to club culture and values. It’s a great honor for me to continue and develop this culture,” Guidetti said after signing the new deal, which will make him one of the longest-lasting single-club head coaches ever in volleyball.
Under the command of a 50-year-old Italian coach, VakıfBank won four FIVB Club World Championships, five CEV Champions Leagues, seven Turkish Leagues, five Turkish Cups, and five Turkish Super Cups.
