The Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi Play-off Final Series kicked off with a thrilling battle as VakıfBank took a 3-1 win over Fenerbahçe Medicana at home. With set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, and 25-22, VakıfBank now leads the best-of-five series 1-0.
Marina Markova and Kiera Van Ryk led the charge with 26 and 23 points, respectively, while captain Zehra Güneş stood out with 7 blocks. Coach Giovanni Guidetti praised his team’s performance but emphasized that this is just the beginning of the journey to the championship. In Fenerbahçe, the top scorers were Melissa Vargas and Ana Cristina de Souza, each with 16 points, while Arina Fedorovtseva followed closely with 15 points.
The next game is set for April 20 at Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall. The first team to reach three wins will be crowned the 2025 season champion.
