VakıfBank has taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi play-off finals after defeating Fenerbahçe Medicana 3-1 in the second match held at Burhan Felek Vestel Voleybol Salonu.
Despite losing the first set 22-25, VakıfBank made a strong comeback by taking the next three sets 25-20, 25-19, and 25-23. With just one more win needed in the best-of-five series, VakıfBank is now on the brink of clinching the championship.
Star Performances Shine Bright
Russian star Marina Markova led VakıfBank with a phenomenal 27 points, including 6 aces. Canadian powerhouse Kiera Van Ryk contributed 20 points, proving to be a pivotal force throughout the match. On Fenerbahçe’s side, Melissa Vargas stood out with 24 points.
