Fenerbahçe Medicana Men’s Team hosted İstanbul Gençlik in the fourth round of the SMS Group Efeler League but fell 3–2 after a tense, back-and-forth match at Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall.
Starting with Earvin Ngapeth, Barthélémy Chinenyeze, Adis Lagumdzija, Mirza Lagumdzija, Mert Matic, Fabian Drzyzga and libero Burutay Subaşı, Fenerbahçe took the first set 25–22 thanks to strong scoring from Barthélémy Chinenyeze and Earvin Ngapeth. İstanbul Gençlik answered quickly, winning the next two sets 25–23 and 25–22 to move ahead.
Fenerbahçe pushed back in the fourth set, controlling the game from start to finish and taking it 25–19 to level the score at 2–2. But İstanbul Gençlik held firm in the deciding set, winning 15–8 and leaving the court with a 3–2 victory.
