TUR M: It had to happen once – İstanbul spoil Fener’s perfect record

İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK was the first team to stay on the way of Fenerbahçe İstanbul in Turkish championship this season 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 24-26, 30-28).

Before city derby in “Burhan Felek” hall, Fenerbahçe were slight favorites. Both teams had 2-0 record, but “Fener” achieved their victories much easier.

Nevertheless, İstanbul BBSK had largest number of efficient players  and better blocking (12-6) in today’s two-hour battle.

Five players ended the match with double digits in home team, led by American opposite William Price (24 pts.) and Bosnian-born Turk Tomislav Ćošković (19).

In Fenerbahçe, Guillaume Quesque scored 20 points, followed by Metin Toy with 19.

Now, İstanbul BBSK remained one of two teams with unbeaten record at start of Division 1 along with Ziraat Bankası Ankara.
