Vakif – Galata
As both VakıfBank and Fenerbahçe achieved victory in penultimate round of Top 4 stage in Turkey, the last round in which these two teams will meet, is going to decide on the new champions. Or old champions, depending on the outcome.
VakıfBank missed opportunity to be crowned as title holders already today. They beat Galatasaray Daikin 3-2, but any other win would guarantee them the trophy. The Dutch Lonneke Slöetjes scored 32 points for ’Vakif’ while Italian Nadia Centoni topped ’Galata’ scorers with 32 as well.
Thus, the reigning champions ’Fener’ took advantage of this outcome to keep breathing down VakıfBank neck as they downed Eczacıbaşı VitrA 3-1. Korean Kim Yeon-Koung scored 22 for the winning team. Serbian Tijana Bošković had 17 for Eczacıbaşı.
Before final round: Leaders VakıfBank 13 points, second placed Fenerbahçe 11!
