Halkbank
The Ankara team, title defenders, beat Arkas Spor 3-1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 25-23) as hosts, in front of 3,500 spectators, to take 1-0 lead in the series of the national championship playoff finals.
Burutay Subaşı with 24 points and Dick Kooy with 15 led Halkbank, while the best scorer of Efeler Ligi, Cuban Michael Sánchez Bozhulev, had 30 for Izmir team, followed by Brazilian Maurício Borges with 10.
Playoff finals in Turkey will be played up to three wins. Halkbank will host Game 2 as well, while Game 3 and Game 4 (if necessary) will be played at Arkas’ court. Game 5 (also if necessary) will be held in Halkbank’s gymnasium.
