17-year-old Serbian talent Matija Grbić is heading to the U.S. to study and play volleyball at Penn State. The university, known for developing stars like Aaron Russell, Matthew Anderson, and Max Holt, announced his signing on social media.
Grbić currently plays in Italy for Perugia’s youth system, where his father, Nikola Grbić, was twice head coach. Nikola, now the head coach of Poland’s national team, and his brother Vladimir are world-renowned volleyball icons, celebrated for their achievements as players. Nikola has transitioned into a successful coaching career, while Vladimir is dedicated to promoting volleyball worldwide. He has devoted himself to working with young athletes and runs one of the largest volleyball camps in Europe.
