Defending champions were much better than the rival and game ended very quickly. Middle Blocker Foluke Akinradewo led USA with 10 points.

“There is always something to improve in every performance and our goal is getting better. Costa Rica had good serves and defense, and I really liked their competitive spirit. We always think about our own side of the net no matter who we face,” said Karch Kiraly after the match.

The competition’s runner up Dominican Republic  faced Puerto Rico and after two sets everything seemed fine for them. But, in another two, Puerto Rican girls managed to tie the score in sets and the teams entered the tie-break.

However, Dominican team won this part of the match and recorded win at the opening match. Brayelin Martinez led Dominican Republic  with 19 points while on the other side Aurea Cruz had fantastic performance – 32 points.
