Iran and Argentina closed the Week 2 of the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League – Group 1 with a highly intense match in Tehran in which hosts prevailed by a 3-2.

The finish of the first set was marked by a lot of nervousness on the court. Referees made a big error in judgment while examining a video challenge at 23-22 for Argentina. The ball clearly touched the block of the South American team, but the second referee decided it was no touch.

Normally, it angered Iranian players and coaching staff, but mostly Saeid Marouf. We must say that a famous setter exaggerated in protests by slightly pushing an additional referee who also came down to help in resolving the situation. Marouf was calmed by the head coach Igor Kolaković right on time before doing something worse. Eventually, referees changed their call and awarded the points to Iran.
