The Czech Republic and Croatia joined Argentina and Canada in the semifinals of the 2019 FIVB Challenger Cup whose winners will participate in the 2020 FIVB Nations League.
The present CEV European Golden League champions, the Czech Republic, surpassed the tournament’s hosts Peru by a 3-1 (27-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21) on Day 3 and eliminated them from the competition. At the same time, the Eastern European side claimed the top spot in Pool A with a 2-0 record and 6 points. Gabriela Orvošová noted 17 points for the winning side. Kateřina Holásková served 5 aces, while Andrea Kossanyiová made 4 kill blocks.
Croatia also benefited from this outcome, as they advanced to the semis as No.2 in the pool.
In Pool B, Canada swept Argentina by a 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-23) as both teams secured a spot in the semifinals yesterday. Alexa Gray scored 20 points for the North American side who claimed the top spot in the pool.
