After losing the first set (21-25), Galatasaray improved the quality of their game halfway through the second set eventually bringing it home at 25-15. The players from Turkey’s megalopolis showed a very good pace also in the third set (16:8) and could comfortably sail to the final 25-17 and provisional 2:1. After trailing in the early phases of the fourth set (3:8), Galatasaray fought their way back on an excellent serving turn by Dobriana Rabadzhieva. The spikes killed by Neriman Ozsoy and the blocks by youngster Mislina Kilic completed a very good performance and Galatasaray won the game 3:1 (25-22).
Apart from Galatasaray and Schweriner SC, two teams from Poland are also participating in this tournament, namely Impel WROCLAW and Fakro Muszynianka MUSZYNA. On Thursday Galatasaray will continue by playing the winners of last year’s CEV Volleyball Cup, MUSZYNA, at 4 pm.
