Jastrzębski Węgiel unveiled their latest reinforcement for the upcoming season, French international Jean Patry. The contract with Patry is set for the upcoming season, with a provision for an extension.
Patry has had a remarkable run with the French national team, with a glittering track record of accolades. The crowning jewel of his career so far is the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Championship, in which France took home the gold. That same year, he also played a pivotal role in leading France to victory in the Volleyball Nations League, finishing with the title of the Best Attacker of the final tournament.
However, his trail of triumphs doesn’t end there. In 2020, he was named the Best Attacker of the Continental Olympic Qualifications, and in 2021, he bagged the MVP of the final tournament of the Challenge Cup. His prowess and skill on the court have also led his national team to win silver (2018, Lille) and bronze medals (2021, Rimini) in the Nations League.
Before making his mark on the international stage, Patry honed his skills at the local level. A native of Montpellier, he began his professional career at Montpellier UC, playing for the club for six years. He then moved to Italy, signing with Top Volley Cisterna and later, Power Volley Milano, with whom he won the 2021 Challenge Cup.
