The Turkish Airlines Sports Club (Türk Hava Yolları SK) is forging ahead in its transfer activities, continuing to add top-notch players to its roster. After signing agreements with the Brazilian setter Macris Carneiro, and Greek outside hitter Anthi Vasilantonaki, THY recently welcomed two more notable additions: Julia Bergmann and Neriman Özsoy.
Julia Bergmann, Brazilian outside hitter, is one of the fresh faces on the Turkish Airlines team. Her journey started with the Avotol Toledo team in Brazil, then later she was transferred to the Abel Havan Brusque team. The year 2001-born Bergmann further enhanced her skills last season in the U.S. College League, where she played for Georgia Tech University.
In addition to Bergmann, Turkish Airlines also bolstered their team with Turkish outside hitter Neriman Özsoy. A former player for Japan’s Denso Airybees team, Özsoy brings a wealth of international experience to the club. Born in 1988 and standing at 1.88 meters tall, Özsoy has a rich career history. She started her journey with Eczacıbaşı in Turkey, before transferring to teams such as Uralochka NTMK in Russia, Atom Trefl Sopot in Poland, Galatasaray, and Dinamo Krasnodar in Russia. Her international stints also include playing for Imoco Conegliano and Modena in Italy, Toyota Auto Body Queenseis and Nec Red Rockets in Japan, and Itambe Minas in Brazil.
