Italian club, Igor Volley Novara, has announced a powerful new addition to their roster for the 2023/2024 season, Russian talent Anastasiia Kapralova. Born in 2004 and originating from Lokomotiv Kaliningrad, Kapralova achieved the title of Under-18 World Champion with her national team in 2021. Raised in the Dinamo Moscow, Kapralova, who will don the number 24 blue jersey, has signed a contract with Igor Volley until June 2024.
General Manager Enrico Marchioni emphasized Kapralova’s potential for growth and her dedication to attack, expressing confidence in her seamless integration into the team, thanks to compatriot Vita Akimova. “When faced with Hanne Orthmann’s severe injury, we evaluated available profiles, focusing on Anastasiia due to her promising potential,” stated Marchioni.
An excited Kapralova sees her inclusion in the Italian championship as a realization of a dream and a splendid opportunity to grow. “I am ambitious; I want to use this opportunity to prove my worth and contribute to the team’s goals,” said the spiker, highlighting her strengths in attack and service.
Kapralova’s journey in volleyball began at 7, following in her uncle’s footsteps. Joining Dinamo Moscow’s youth school at 14, she rapidly ascended to the young national teams, clinching a European bronze and world gold in 2021.
