Zenit Kazan announced the signing of Serbian national team player Drazen Luburic. The 31-year-old opposite hitter becomes the second Serbian in the club’s history, following Nikola Grbic’s tenure during the 2013/14 season.
Luburic is well-acquainted with Russian volleyball, having already played five seasons in the Super League. His previous clubs include Zenit St. Petersburg (2017/18), Belogorie (2019/20), and Lokomotiv (2020–2023).
His professional career began at Serbian club Vojvodina, with subsequent moves to Italy’s Piacenza, Japan’s Hiroshima Thunders, and Turkish sides Halkbank and Fenerbahce.
Internationally, Luburic has been a regular contributor for Serbia, helping secure titles in the 2016 FIVB World League and the 2019 European Championship. He also played at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
