The decision comes at a crucial stage of the season. Despite sitting at the top of the TAURON Liga standings with an impressive 16–1 record, club officials stated that team needed a fresh spark to stay on course for defending the Polish championship?

In their statement, DevelopRes Rzeszów thanked the Spanish coach for his commitment. Cesar Hernandez Gonzalez arrived in Rzeszów ahead of the 2025/2026 season and quickly made an impact. Alongside Polish SuperCup win, he guided the team to the quarterfinals of the CEV Women’s Champions League. Still, the semifinal exit in the Polish Cup proved a disappointment in an otherwise strong campaign. Stepping into the head coaching role is assistant coach Jelena Blagojević.

We should also recall last season, when the club’s management dismissed head coach Michal Mašek in the final part of the campaign and appointed Stéphane Antiga to lead the team for the remainder of the 2024/2025 season—despite the fact that the club was sitting in second place in the overall standings at the time.
