The elimination in the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Women’s Volleyball Championship last season resulted in major changes in the roster of SESC RJ.

As 12-time Brazilian titleholders announced, they hired as much as eight newcomers for the 2019/20! These players are: one-time Olympic Games winner Tandara Caixeta (opposite hitter, Guangdong, China), one-time world champion Josefa Fabíola (setter, SESI Vôlei Bauru), one-time FIVB World Grand Prix winner Amanda Francisco (outside hitter, Hinode Barueri), Thaís Oliveira (setter, C.R. do Flamengo, Division 2), Ariele Moreira (outside hitter, Vôlei Balneário Camboriú), Milka Silva (middle blocker, Hinode Barueri), and Natália Araújo “Natinha” (libero, Hinode Barueri).

The above-mentioned players will join those who remained in the roster from the last season: opposite hitter Natiele Gonçalves, setter Carolina Leite “Carol Leite”, outside hitters Drussyla Costa and Dominican Yonkaira Peña, middle blockers Juciely Barreto and Linda Jéssica Costa, and libero Gabriela Souza “Gabi”.

Roberta Ratzke and Monique Pavão left the club.
