The 2nd-seed Taubaté gave no chance to no.4 Minas in Game 2 of 2020/21 Brazilian Men’s Superliga Banco do Brasil playoff finals, held in the bubble in Saquarema.
A team from the São Paulo State made sure to confirm the role of the favorite on the paper and swept the series by a 2-0, even though they narrowly escaped a defeat in the first match. Today, it was 3-0 for Taubaté, partially 25-20, 25-22, and 25-17, by which they won the 2nd consecutive championship title (the last season was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic – Taubaté were no.1 at the moment of the cancellation).
Douglas Souza was the top scorer today with 15 points. His teammate Bruno Rezende ‘Bruninho’ was named MVP of the finals but not of the entire Superliga this season – it was Maurício Borges.
