Zenit Saint Petersburg achieved one more straight-set win over OK Budva to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2020 CEV Men’s Volleyball Cup.

In the 2nd leg of the 1/8 final of the 2020 CEV Cup, Russian Zenit beat Montenegrin Budva at home by a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-21). The first game ended with the same score in favor of the Saint Petersburg side. Despite the fact that 2 starters of Zenit - the German opposite hitter Georg Grozer (caught a cold) and middle blocker Ivan Iakovlev (coach’s decision) - didn’t play in the rematch, the guests had virtually no chances. Ivan Podrebinkin top-scored for the Russian team with 15 points. Dominican Henry Omar Tapia led Budva with 15 points.

German representatives Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Hahcing became the 2nd team to progress to the quarterfinals after beating Barkom-Kazhany Lviv from Ukraine in the tie-break. Actually, AlpenVolleys needed to take only 2 sets in this match knowing they swept rivals in the first leg with 3-0.
