Knack Roeselare made an enormous step towards advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2020 CEV Men’s Volleyball Champions League by beating VfB Friedrichshafen with 3-1 (28-26, 26-28, 25-19, 25-17).

In a direct duel for the 2nd place in Pool E, Belgian Roeselare once again proved too strong for Friedrichshafen from Germany (beat them in Round 1 by a 3-0 as well). These 2 sides were tied in Pool E standings at 5 points prior to the match so it was do-or-die encounter for both to secure a position in the top 3 of the overall ranking of the best runners-up that will reach quarterfinals along with pool winners. Roeselar are now among the top 3 runners-up but their main contenders for a Playoff berth are yet to play their Round 5 matches. Hendrik Tuerlinckx was the top scorer for the winners with 12 points.

Polish champions Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle (already progressed to the quarterfinals) kept the perfect record in this pool after beating Serbian side Vojvodina NS Seme Novi Sad. Furthermore, Zaksa remained the only team that didn’t concede a single set, so far: 15-0!
