WCH 2018 W: Bronze medal goes to China’s trophy room!

658 0

The Chinese women’s volleyball national team has claimed the bronze medal at the World Championship in Japan.

They have defeated the Netherlands in straight sets: 25-22, 25-19, 25-14.

Obviously, the Dutch girls didn’t have enough strength to overcome yesterday’s defeat against Serbia in the semifinals. They underperformed today, making a job much easier for the Olympic Champions China.

The top scorer of the game was Yingying Li, who ended the game with 20 points. In the Netherlands, Lonneke Sloetjes has won the 15 points.

The result marked the first time that China, a two-time champion, has won the bronze medal at the World Championship. Despite the loss, the Dutch recorded their best finish ever in the event with fourth place.

World Champs, The Final:

Serbia - Italy 12:40 CET

Third place game:

Netherlands - China 0-3 (22-25, 19-25, 14-25)

The semifinals:

Serbia - Netherlands 3-1 (25-22, 26-28, 25-19, 25-23)

China - Italy 2-3 (18-25, 25-21, 16-25, 31-29, 15-17)

Re: @Paolo
More titles He Win with SADA, and national team, so Bulgaria like a team is not very good like Brazil, as players and the club team SADA you know many years, with Leal in this team they don't have many competitors in South America. Only 1-2 Argentine teams like UPCN, Bolivar, but you know, they are not in the same level with SADA in good years...

In Europe, there is many good teams like Zenit Kazan, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk, Belgorod, Lube, Trento, Modena, and Polish team Reply
