The response of an Indian Volleyball Federation to the FIVB in regard to organizing the 2019 Men’s Club World Championship should happen next week, Web Vôlei reported. The FIVB expects a positive answer as they aim to gain more space in the huge consumer market in that part of Asia.
In case India accepts to host the event, the next step will be to confirm the city that will organize the tournament, which will likely be Chennai, and date when it will be played, which is likely in December.
If the Asian country gives a negative response, the FIVB will open a bidding process to organize the 2019 Men’s Club World Championship between federations of Brazil and Italy. Because of a signed contract, the Women’s tournament will be played in China again.
The Italian side Itas Trentino are the reigning titleholders in the Men’s competition, while the Turkish VakıfBank lifted the trophy in the Women’s competition last year.
