As it was announced earlier, the FIVB started to apply its new and improved World Ranking System, that it is supposed to ensure a more accurate process of giving points to national teams than before, on February 1.
The FIVB stressed that a new way of ranking senior national teams won’t affect the pool’s composition for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which was determined based on the rankings as of January 31, 2020.

Turkey’s jump to the 5th place in senior women is noteworthy.
I see people complaining about this, ‘my team got demoted to 10 place, or this team shouldn be at this rank’ hahahah, in 4 months all that will change, first wth VNL; then Challenger Cup and finaly the olympic, this is only the startlist, even if i dont see Argentina in 5th place in men, there is not drama, they will get low rank after the tournaments of this year. With this system Fivb is force the teams to go with their stars to the main events such as VNL for example if they dont wanna down in the ranking.
