GREEK CUP M: PAOK defend trophy, Muagututia named MVP

P.A.O.K. repeated the last year’s success in the Greek Men’s Volleyball Cup.

P.A.O.K. won their third Hellenic Cup, second in a row, as they beat Iraklis Volleyball 2015 in this season’s final which was held in the city of Ierapetra (Crete island).

The Thessaloniki side prevailed in four sets against the rivals which they recently eliminated in the championship playoff quarterfinals, partially 20-25, 25-12, 25-20 and 27-25. A day earlier, P.A.O.K. kicked fierce rivals Olympiacos S.F.P. out of the tournament (3-1) and opened themselves a path to the trophy.

Garrett Muagututia, the American outside hitter from P.A.O.K, was the best scorer of the gold medal encounter with 23 points and was named MVP of the Final Four. Russian Egor Popov scored 19 points for Iraklis.
