Leixões SC prevailed in Game 4 of the 2018/19 I Divisão playoff finals against AVC Famalicão in the tie-break, partially 25-18, 25-13, 22-25, 20-25 and 15 -11, to close the series by a 3-1 and claim the third consecutive title. The final series was very exciting as the two teams played a five-setter in three out of four encounters with the lower seed (No.2) Leixões emerging as an overall winner against the top seed Famalicão.
Leixões are the most titled Women’s team in Portugal with 18 national championship trophies but had more than a two-decade drought before winning the first of these three consecutive titles.
Juliana Antunes was the best scorer of the winning side in Game 4 with 18 points and 74% positive reception (23 total, one error, 43% perfect) while Brazilian Thaís Bruzza scored 15 points for Famalicão.
