The Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile members Busto have welcomed the country’s and the world’s volleyball icon Piccinini, who has chosen them for her sensational return to volleyball. The 40-year-old outside hitter reinforced the squad coached by Stefano Lavarini for a season finale in which Busto will fight for the national title (currently 2nd in the charts).

After more than 26 years of her professional career and as many as 7 CEV Champions League trophies on her account, one FIVB World Championship and 2 CEV EuroVolleys won, Piccinini saddened the volleyball world by announcing retirement in September. Piccinini’s re-activation definitely supports speculations of her desire to fight for a place in the national team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which would be the 5th time that she appears in such an event (she previously played all Olympics from 2000 to 2012).

@BrazilVolleyGirl
Your racist comment has no place in a forum about sports.
I want to see an Italian team composed of the best athletes available, who will advance the sport forward and give us the best displays of athleticism, sportsmanship and dedication.

WorldOfVolley should do a better job of reviewing comments.
