The Italian coach Stefano Lavarini has arrived in South Korea to take over the women's national team.

He has been warmly welcomed in Korea by the Korean Volleyball Federation officials.

"I am very glad to come in Korea and I was not expecting such a kind welcome, and I am looking forward to seeing all the excitement in the future, and I am honored to have such a wonderful team. I want to learn a lot of things in terms of culture and I hope that it will be a great journey. Our greatest goal is to advance to the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. It will be difficult, but we will do our best to fulfill our goals."

They have signed a contract until the end of the Asian Olympic Games qualifiers. If he manages to reach the Olympic Games, the contract will be extended until the end of the Olympic Games.

Lavarini is the current head coach of Camponesa Minas, while in his career he coached Bergamo, Club Italia Crai and Chieri.
