Italian and Chinese media speculate that the Women’s Volleyball superstar Zhu Ting will return to play in her home country after three years.

IVolley Magazine and Sina reported that there are very good chances for the Chinese outside hitter Zhu Ting to return to play in her home country after spending the last three seasons abroad. The destination is supposed to be the Henan, a club whose colors she defended for three years before leaving for Turkey.

At the end of the Rio Olympic cycle and after winning the gold medal with China national team and MVP award, Zhu Ting accepted the offer to join the Turkish side VakıfBank. It was the transfer that was arranged with the consent of the Chinese Volleyball Federation. As it was assessed, Zhu Ting will make significant progress playing in a top-level club like VakıfBank and competing in the strong competition such as the Turkish Championship and, especially, the CEV Champions League. It turned out to be a smart decision knowing that a 24-year-old outside hitter won several MVP awards – once in the Champions League, two times in the FIVB Club World Championship and Turkish Championship and once in the Turkish Cup. So, based on the agreements signed when coming to Turkey, Zhu Ting will return to China to better prepare for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Another big name from the Turkish volleyball might play in the Chinese top division next season – Jordan Larson. The American outside hitter, one-time FIVB World Championship winner, will likely leave Eczacıbaşı VitrA after five seasons, during which she won the CEV Champions League and earned FIVB Club World Championship MVP award, once each. According to iVolley Magazine, a 32-year-old player will join Shanghai.

From one of Zhu's Instagram reader's comments, Zhu might be joining Tianjin Bohai Bank. Li Yingying is their star and has just won the Asian Championship beating Thailand. Many regard Li to be the 2nd best Chinese player behind Zhu Ting. This would make the team too strong.

Very irresponsible by coach Heynen! Team could of get trouble if someone would get injured in that set. You have only 6 substitutions allowed. Reply

POL M: Heynen criticizes EuroVolley format – “It’s not good for Volleyball”

Re: @~sadaf
Issue of his statement was that he asks for restricted, limited participation of NTs, due to of absence of tight matches...Moreover he had used the argument - results 3:0. So that I have used the statistics from other competitions, where should have been much more tight matches - like VNL, World Championship, due to of selection criteria . ( I did not treat the formula of VNL at all... )
The results of this small analysis are interesting, which I did not expected - see my previous comments. Remarkable indication is that the in final phases of these tournaments where had competed the strongest NTs, which should have been on the similar/same level, the percentage of matches which had ended 3:0 is higher as in a prelimenary phase, which is also pretty high. Especially when these NTs should have been the best in the world...

However a different question is - why was increased the numbers of NTs at European Championship?
Perhaps I will try to make some remarks on one aspect of that later on, from a volleyball fan point of view.. Reply

POL M: Heynen criticizes EuroVolley format – “It’s not good for Volleyball”

[@John Doek] Everyone criticised VNL, Heynen being one of them, when its formula was introduced. It is mainly the fault of VNL that there is so little time to rest and prepare for bigger tournaments in the second part of national season, there is too much matches to play. Reply
