After losing two straight games since the beginning of the 2019/20 Dodram V-League regular season, Cheonan Hyundai Capital Skywalkers won their first match. In the 3-2 (25-21, 19-25, 24-26, 27-25, 15-12) away victory against Uijeongbu KB Insurance Insurance Stars, the champions had to rely solely on domestic players for the first time this season as Cuban import Yosvany Hernández was out for an ankle injury.
On the other hand, the KB Stars’ foreigner Bram van den Dries was spectacular. Belgian player, who came to the team just before the opening of the new V-League season instead of Cuban Michael Sánchez, harvested 38 points which were a lot more than he totally scored in the first two games (27 points). As for the Skywalkers, Jeon Kwang-In poured in 22 points, while Shin Yung-Suk made as much as 9 kill blocks.
