Today, both men’s and women’s volleyball championships in Thailand (Thai Volleyball League) resumed their activities after a four-month break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, this Asian country became the third country in the world to do so, after Vietnam and Greece. The men’s championship of the latter country even got this season’s winners.

The format of both Thai championships will be the same. The Final Four will be played with teams competing against each other in the round-robin tournament. The clubs with most points will be crowned as the new champions.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, all matches will be played in a single venue, at The Mall Bangkapi in Bangkok, with the audience limitation to not more than 150 people on the stands. All will be checked for fever through the special application, while alcohol bottles will be placed on several locations in the hall so that spectators can use them to disinfect their hands.

As for the court, players on the benches will be separated with a plastic barrier, while backup players and coaches are obligated to wear masks. The referees will use electric whistles to prevent the transmission of the virus through drooling. The ballboys and ballgirls will wear rubber gloves when collecting balls and will use alcohol spray to wipe the sweat of the players from the court while cleaning.

Composition of the Final Four – Men: Diamond Food VC, Nakhon Ratchasima The Mall VC, Rajamangala Lanna Phitsanulok VC, and Air Force.

Composition of the Final Four – Women: Generali Supreme Chonburi-E.Tech, Khonkaen Star VC, Nakhon Ratchasima The Mall VC, and 3BB Nakornnon.
