We have one more national champion during the coronavirus pandemic. After Panathinaikos A.O. won the Greek men’s Championship, Supreme got crowned as the Thai women’s championship winners (2019/20 Thailand Volleyball League).
The team from Chonburi needed to take two sets in the penultimate round of the Final Four, held at The Mall Bangkapi in Bangkok, against 3BB Nakornnon. However, they took all three, beating rivals in straight sets, partially 25-19, 25-22, and 25-14. Thus, Supreme won their third national title (2017, 2018, 2020) given that they had 14 points (5/5), six more than the closest followers in the charts, Khonkaen Star VC (2/3). The last season’s champions Nakhon Ratchasima The Mall VC were the biggest disappointment of the Final Four. They won only one out of five matches and earned three points which put them at the last place in the charts before the last round.
The country’s national team star Pleumjit Thinkaow, a member of Supreme, was named MVP of the championship.
