Volleyball has returned to Poland after half a year.

The four most successful clubs in the last 20 seasons of the Polish Championship (PlusLiga) got the chance to fight for the trophy in the Polish Super Cup. Actually, it was supposed to be a friendly tournament one week before the start of the new PlusLiga season, which was turned into the Super Cup (official name: Superpuchar Mistrzów Polski). Such a format emerged from the fact that neither the Polish champions nor the winners of the Polish Cup were awarded last season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

PGE Skra Bełchatów swept Jastrzębski Węgiel in the first semifinal but only after claiming all three sets with a two-point difference: 3-0 (29-27, 25-23, 28-26). Serbian Milan Katić top-scored for Skra with 14 points.

This duel was followed with the match between Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów in which the former prevailed in four sets mostly thanks to Łukasz Kaczmarek (19 points, including 5 kill blocks).
