RUS M: Zenit St. Petersburg come only one point away from leaders Zenit-Kazan

Zenit Saint Petersburg have progressed to second place in the 2020/21 Russian Men’s Volleyball Championship charts.

 

Zenit Saint Petersburg took the advantage of yesterday’s defeat of the leaders Zenit-Kazan and reduced the deficit in the 2020/21 Russian Men’s Superliga Parimatch regular season charts in relation to them to just one point (37 vs 36). Tuomas Sammelvuo’s team beat Yugra-Samotlor by a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-17) in Round 17, scoring the 6th win in a row.

Viktor Poletaev scored 18 points on the winning side. Ivan Yakovlev set up 4 blocks, while Evgeniy Andreev had 80 % reception (10 digs, 10 % excellent).

Dinamo-LO are no longer the last-placed club in the competition. They downed Belogorie in four sets in the second match between these two sides in just two days and ended their own losing streak of 7 games. Slovakian-Russian Lukáš Diviš top-scored the club from the Sosnovy Bor with 20 points, which he made through 74 % attack (17/23).
