So, one semifinal pair, first placed against fourth placed, is already known because the current standings will not change significantly in regard to that.
The championship is headed by Azerrail Baku, who secured pole position for playoffs after beating winless and last placed team of VC Tbilisi 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-22). Thus, wards of Turkish coach Bülent Karslıoğlu will meet fourth-seeded Azeryol Baku in semis. Azeryol cannot move up on the table since they ended regular stage today as well, by defeating Azerbaijani Youth National Team (Genclik) 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-21).
Only dilemma remains on second and third position in the standings. If Lokomotiv Baku down Tbilisi in last match of regular season (March 20), which is expected knowing the strength of both teams, they will skip Telecom Baku and claim second place. These two teams will meet in semis anyway, but Lokomotiv might have a home court advantage.
