“The Olympic tournament is a different competition. We breathe a different air in the Olympics. So, I think for that reason we prepare a lot and wait for this moment to come. It’s going to be a very important moment in my career if not the most important one. All athletes dream to compete in the Olympics…So, to play in front of our fans is going to be the dream comes true. I’m very happy to take part in this Olympic Games in Brazil and we hope to the well and to win for the third time,” says Natalia.
Goals at the Rio Olympics?
“Our plan in 2012 definitely was to repeat what we did in 2008, to win the Olympics for the second time and this year we definitely want to win it for the third time. We know it won’t be easy.”
Is there any pressure from the fans?
“Absolutely, there is a lot of pressure in Brazil. The Brazilian people are very passionate about the sports. Volleyball is today, If I’m not wrong, the second most popular sport in Brazil. So people wants us to win, there will be a lot of fans a lot of good things but at the same time there’ll be a lot of pressure. But we will always try to be positive with the positive energy from the our fans, family members and friends” says Natalia Pereira.
