Usually, when these two teams face each other only the fans of one team are on the stands. Still, that was not the case on Saturday, when PAOK and Olympiacos played the semifinals of Greek Cup.
The match was played in Thessaloniki, so PAOK had kind of a home court advantage as that is their home city. However, the whole tournament is being played in Alexandreio Melathron Hall, which is the home of PAOK’s biggest rival – Aris Thessaloniki!
Interesting enough, the people from Aris Thessaloniki basketball club decided to hide the jerseys which are hanging from the rafters, as they were scared PAOK fans may try to destroy them.
On the other side of the gym there were a small group of Olympiacos fans who traveled all the way from Athens to help their team in this derby match.
Two groups of fans had a constant chant-battle during the game, while at the end it was Olympiacos side who celebrated, as their team won the game by 3-1 and advanced to the Greek Cup Finals.
