Lube vs. Trentino
Lube started the match pretty unfocused by making crucial errors (two net invasions) in opening set at 15-16 and allowing opponents to make 5-0 run. They closed it with two service errors in a row 25-19.
Lube instantly responded with 4-0 at start of Set 2. Changes in the composition made by Trentino’s coach Stoytchev were not fruitful because Miljković was on fire. Trentino had many troubles in reception in this period so, Lube easily brought this set to end 25-17.
Trentino made key points in Set 3 when Giannelli scored and Lanza blocked Juantorena (16-11). Đurić was unstoppable in the finish for final 25-22.
With good blocking at beginning of Set 4, Trentino had huge opportunity to break down Lube (7-4), but Stanković returned his team to life with two aces (7-7). From then, the game went to point for point play, with little errors committed from both sides. Cester’s block on Đurić took the match into tie-break 27-25.
Lube speeded up at start of the fifth set (4-2), but Urnaut and Trentino’s middle blockers made turnaround. Priddy committed net invasion to close the match 15-11.
Thus, Trentino and Modena will decide on the winner of this prestigious competition in Italy, just like in 2015, on Sunday, February 7.
