We have already written about the possible changes in the CEV Champions League 2016/17 season, while now there is some more info about this topic. According to sportowefakty.wp.pl, CEV may reduce the number of teams in their elite club’s competition!

This source writes that from the next season there will be 20 clubs both in the men’s competition (instead of 28) and in the women’s competition (instead of 24). Also, the important thing is that 12 of those 20 teams will qualify to the CEV Champions League directly from their national championships, while that remaining 8 will advance through qualifications.

The main purpose of these changes is to increase the level of the competition.
