There are three rounds until the end of the Regular Season in PlusLiga and PGE Skra Belchatow and Asseco Resovia are fighting a big battle for the 2nd place that holds a ticket for the Playoffs Finals. At the moment, two fierce rivals have the same number of points – 49, PGE Skra Belchatow have 3 more wins, but it is Asseco Resovia that hold the 2nd spot because of the better set ratio!
And, players and coaching staff of PGE Skra Belchatow are simply outrageous about that rule that gives advantage to set ratio over the overall number of wins!
“This is the only place in the world where the sets are more important than the wins! It is a bad rule and it is completely against the spirit of sport. We have 3 more wins than Resovia, but still they are better placed on the standings! I cannot believe it!” said Miguel Falasca, head coach of PGE Skra Belchatow.
Recall that Nicolas Marechal has also expressed his disproval for the system of competition in PlusLiga.
But, how it is possible that PGE Skra Belchatow are complaining about this rule now, three rounds before the end of the Regular Season, when the rules were quite clear already before the start of the league?
