Russia National Team head coach Vladimir Alekno renounced setter Dmitriy Kovalev and opposite Viktor Poletaev, as sportbo.ru revealed. Previously he cut Dmitriy Muserskiy (injury) and Lukáš Diviš while Aleksandr Markin was forbidden to compete due to doping affair.
The final 12-man roster of the Olympic Games defending champions:
