By winning the final, the Cardinal (27-7) set a few records. They were the youngest team ever to play NCAA Final Four in women’s volleyball. Stanford claimed first national title for their volleyball program since 2004 and the seventh in program history to tie Penn State.

The Cardinal finished the season on a 10-match winning streak – the team’s longest winning-streak since 28 straight victories in the 2014 campaign. Interestingly, it was the 24th NCAA Women’s Volleyball meeting between Stanford and Texas but the first matchup in the national championship game.
