No. 2 Florida Gators (26-1, Southeastern Conference) swept Alabama State Lady Hornets (28-11, Southwestern Athletic Conference) by a 3-0 (25-9, 25-13, 25-9) in the First Round of the NCAA D1 Championship at home ground in Exactech Arena in Gainesville thanks to 12 points (8 kills, 3 aces, 1 kill block) by senior outside hitter Carli Snyder.

In the Second Round, Florida will face Miami Hurricanes (22-5, Atlantic Coast Conference) who prevailed over College of Charleston Cougars (27-6, Colonial Athletic Association) in four sets, partially (25-21, 21-25, 25-20, 25-15) in Exactech Arena in Gainesville as well. Senior outside hitter Olga Stranzali from Greece topped Florida with 19 points (14 kills, 3 aces, 2 kill blocks).

The 11th seed Utah Utes (23-9, Pac-12 Conference) booked their ticket to the Second Round by running over Cleveland State Vikings (22-8, Horizon League) in straight sets, partially 25-14, 25-21, 25-12, at home at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. Two Utes’ players shared the top scorer title – senior outside hitter Adora Anae and freshman outside hitter Kenzie Koerber – with 12 points apiece.

Purdue Boilermakers (23-9, Big Ten Conference) justified the role of the favorites in the First Round against High Point Panthers (24-8, Big South Conference), outplaying them by a 3-1 (21-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-12). Thus, they scheduled the Second Round duel with the hosts Utah. Senior outside hitter Danielle Cuttino stood out in Purdue with 22 points (18 kills, 4 kill blocks).
