Of the three German teams in the women’s quarterfinals of the A1 CEV EuroBeachVolley Vienna 2021, only Karla Borger and Julia Sude advanced to tomorrow’s semifinals. First they won in three sets 2-1 (21-12, 15-21, 15-11) against Swiss Esmee Böbner and Zoé Vergé-Dépré and in the quarterfinals with a clear 2-0 (21-18, 21-19) they defeated Russians Svetlana Kholomina and Ksenia Dabizha.
In the semifinals, they will play against Nina Betschart and Tanja Hüberli of Switzerland. Nina Betschart and Tanja Hüberli defeated Polish Kinga Wojtasik and Katarzyna Kociolek 2-0 (21-17, 21-13) in the round of 16 and in the quarterfinals they were better than the Sanne Keizer and Madelein Meppelink of the Netherlands 2-0 (21-20, 21-19).
Tina Graudina and Anastasija Kravcenoka of Latvia also advanced to the semifinals after defeating Czechs Barbora Hermannová and Marie-Sara Stochlova in straight sets 2-0 (21-17, 21-18) and later in the quarterfinals they were better than the German team Chantal Laboureur and Cinja Tillmann 2-1 (13 – 21, 21 – 16, 15 – 13). They play against against Raisa Schoon and Katja Stam of the Netherlands in tomorrow’s semifinal. Raisa Schoon and Katja Stam first defeated their compatriots Marleen van Iersel and Pleun Ypma in two sets 2-0 (21-16, 21-15) and in the quarterfinals they were better than Germans Victoria Bieneck and Isabel Schneider with 2-0 (21-19, 23-21) victory.
