Tokyo Olympic champions Anders Mol and Christian Sorum of Norway continue their winning streak at EuroBeachVolley after beating Italians Daniele Lupo and Paolo Nicolai 2-0 (21-18, 29-27). In the quarterfinals, they will play against the Russians Konstantin Semenov and Ilya Leshukov, who advanced with a victory in two sets 2-0 (21-13, 21-19) against Christiaan Varenhost and Steven van de Velde of the Netherlands.
Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen of the Netherlands defeated Tokyo semifinalists Martins Plavins and Edgars Tocs of Latvia with a 2-0 (21-15, 21-18) at the Red Bull Beach Arena.
In quarterfinals of A1 CEV EuroBeachVolley Vienna 2021 they will play against Germans Nils Ehlers and Lukas Pfretzschner who defeated Russians Nikita Liamin and Taras Myskiv 2-0 (21-19, 21-17) in their round of 16.
The Spanish Herrera & Gavira team defeated Krasilnikov & Stoyanovskiy 2-1 (21-16, 19-21, 15-12) and stopped another Tokyo Olimpics semifinalist and silver medalist from the opportunity to climb the podium at the A1 CEV EuroBeachVolley Vienna 2021.
The other quarterfinalists are Kantor/Losiak (POL), Boermans/de Groot (NED) and Perusic/Schweiner (CZE)
